Fascinating Mountains (11Days / 10Nights)

Thousands of tourists arrive each year for the opportunity to explore and see volcanoes, deep gorges, canyons, snow-capped mountains and the highest lake in the world, Lake Titicaca.

Day 1. Lima – Arequipa arequipa peru

Flight from Lima to Arequipa. Transfer and check-in to the hotel. The city of Arequipa is surrounded by three large volcanoes: Misti volcano (5821m), Chachani (6075m) and Pichu Pichu (5425m). Arequipa certainly acquires its name as the White City from its buildings mainly made of ashlar, volcanic lava; in which the white embellishes the facades of the houses and churches. Guided tour of approximately three hours.

 

Day 2. Arequipa – Chivay

The Colca Canyon is an impressive geological formation and one of the deepest in the world, at about 3680 metreschivay deep.

Departure by tourist bus heading to the great Colca Canyon. En route we will observe different species of South American camelids such as vicuñas, alpacas and llamas. Arrival to the town of Chivay, greeting and check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon, a visit to the thermal baths.

Day 3. Chivay – Colca – Arequipa

At the indicated time we will depart to see the flight of the condors, visit some of the peoples of the Colca Canyon and then return to the city of Arequipa. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4. Arequipa – Cusco

Transfer to airport for a flight to Cusco. Greeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon a visit to thecuzco peru city and its surroundings. We will begin our visit in the Temple of Koricancha, Temple of the Sun; the main temple of the Incas dedicated to the worship of the Sun. We will also go to Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay archaeological constructions, and then return to the hotel at the end of the day.

Day 5. Cusco – Sacred Valley – Cusco

Depart at 8:30am by private vehicle to the Sacred Valley. After about an hour we will arrive to the archaeological sitesacred valley of Pisac, built primarily for storing the food reserves of the Empire. Afterwards we will have lunch at a restaurant which offers a typical regional buffet. Then we will continue our tour to the city of Ollantaytambo, where we will visit the fortress which was considered a strategic military, religious and agricultural centre. Then we will travel to the village of Chinchero, famous for its colonial church, built on an Inca palace. We return to Cusco at the end of the day and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 6. Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Archaeologists believe that the city of Machu Picchu was built in the middle of the 15th century.machu pichu

We depart in the early hours of the morning towards the village of Machu Picchu, called Aguas Calientes. From there we take a direct connection by bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. This is the day to marvel at the amazing archeological city. We return to the town of Aguas Calientes by bus and take the connecting train to Ollantaytambo and from there by bus to Cusco.

Day 7. A Free Day in Cusco

A free day to explore the city on your own and discover the typical streets that lead to the Inca and colonial buildings such as the neighborhood of San Blas.

Day 8. Cusco – Puno

Depart at 7: 30am by tourist bus.

There are dominant landscapes throughout the entire journey to Puno. Visits to the archaeological sites of Raqchi and Andahuaylillas, with its celebrated Sistine Chapel. Lunch en route. Arrival to Puno around 5pm and transfer to the hotel.

Day 9. Puno – Uros – Amantaní

Transfer in the morning to the port of Puno to visit by boat the Uros Islands where we will have a guided tour aroundamantani-puno the floating islands. Afterwards we will travel three more hours by boat and arrive at Amantani Island. We will join with the inhabitants of the island in their everyday habits. Lunch will be offered by a local family. The visit will include tours with a local guide.

Day 10. Amantaní – Taquile – Puno

In the morning we will go aboard a motor boat and travel approximately for an hour before arriving at the island ofpuno peru Taquile, which has many cultural interests. The inhabitants live maintaining the customs and traditions of their Inca ancestors. Lunch in a typical restaurant on the island.

Day 11. Puno – Juliaca – Lima

Transfer to Juliaca airport to fly to Lima.
